What is NSF file?
The NSF file extension is a file type that can be opened in Lotus Notes. It allows users to open a spreadsheet and view the data from the spreadsheet in an organized fashion. The NSF file extension originated with Microsoft Excel and it was created to support a feature called a "shared workbook". The shared workbook was not available in all versions of Excel, so some users would have to use Excel 97 or even earlier versions of Excel. The NSF file extension was created so that everyone could access the shared workbooks from their own computer by opening the specific file type for that spreadsheet.
