OVA File Type
OVAs are virtual appliances; open virtual appliances, or OVAs, are pre-configured software packages. They can be used by other developers to create new products. OVAs come in two flavors - one where the hardware is part of the software (HW-in-Box) and one where the hardware is separate (HW-on-Demand). VCB File Type
A VCB file is a virtual machine configuration archive image. It can be used to create a backup of the state of a virtual machine to either an external hard drive or another VMware host. The VCB file contains all the settings and configurations of the virtual machine as well as its current snapshot and state. When restoring this type of backup, it is important that the same VM version is restored but with any new changes that have been made since the last backup.
