What is VDF file?
VDF files are files that store virus definition updates for AntiVir Antivirus software. A VDF file is usually an update to the virus definition database for the AntiVir Antivirus software. It contains information about viruses, malware, and other malicious programs, so that it can identify them when they are encountered. A VDF file is made up of two parts: a .VDF file extension and an associated .DAT file. The .DAT file contains the actual data for the updates to the virus definitions database while the .VDF is responsible for downloading updates from a central repository on your computer's hard drive.
