What is IMAGE file?
An IMAGE file is composed of two ASCII text files, a header and the data. The header includes information about the disk image such as how much data it contains, how big the file is on disk, whether it was created with a compression method that uses a specific compression algorithm, the creation date and time, and an optional checksum.
