What is IFF file?
The IFF file extension is a container for multiple media files that were created by the Interchange File Format. The IFF file format is used in games, movies, and other multimedia applications. IFF files are composed of a header followed by a series of data chunks in which each chunk contains an entry point to the data stream and metadata about the chunk. IFF was originally developed by Williams Electronics / Electro-Magic for use with their Mixed Media Game cartridge (MMC) and later became popular among game developers and computer graphics artists.
