What is DDS file?
DDS file is a document file used in the DirectDraw subsystem of the Windows operating system with graphical applications. The ".DDS" extension is used to designate these files with a 8.3 naming convention. The DDS file contains a surface with one, two, or four channels of 32-bit color data.
