What is AEP file?
It is an extension for the open-source software application After Effects. It's a special file type used by AE to store presets and other types of project files. AEP is not a folder, but an extension that you add to your .aep file. You can't create AEPs in folders or on the desktop - it only appears in the Applications folder inside your Documents folder, when you open it using After Effects. The extension is also found in Photoshop and Illustrator and has been around since AI was introduced.
