What is XMP file?
XMP is a format created by Adobe Systems for storing metadata about other files. XMP is a metadata container which stores information about the document, author, title, keywords, subject categories and more. It can be used to store rich metadata about documents without having to embed this data in the document file itself. XMP files are usually saved with a .xmp file extension and can be opened by most photo editing software including Photoshop and Lightroom.
