What is RM file?
The RM file is a file extension for "Real Media" files. It is used to store media in the .rm format, which are also known as Real Audio files. It consists of .WAV, .AIFF, .AIF, and the raw data in the MPEG-2 stream. The term ""Real Media"" refers to a collection of audio and video formats used by multimedia applications on various platforms. The original format is still available in most cases but has been superseded by newer formats such as Windows Media Audio 9 Professional (WMA9 Pro), with support for encoding or playback on Microsoft Windows Vista or later operating systems. RM files are commonly associated with RealPlayer software although this is not required for playback of these files using most multimedia applications capable of playing
