What is QT file?
The QT-file extension is an audio or video file extension used mostly with Apple's Quick Time media player. It was originally used to store QuickTime movies, but later it became the most widely used file format for storing multimedia content with an embedded audio or video soundtrack. QuickTime movies are saved as a QT-file and can be played through QuickTime Player software on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux platforms. They are also compatible with the Safari web browser on Mac OS X and Windows systems. Apple's QuickTime codecs were originally designed for use in creating QuickTime movies, but both MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 have been supported since 2004 when they were released by Apple Inc.
