What is OUT file?
The OUT file extension is used for all files that are saved in binary format. These files are usually data that have been extracted from other source files. OUT is the default file extension for binary output files. It came about with the introduction of Microsoft Windows, which was originally called MS-DOS, back in 1981. The filename extension was 1D0 to distinguish it from other 1x0 formats like ASCII or ANSI text. OUT is an older name for this type of file because it was not widely adopted by many programs during the initial release of Windows
