What is OPUS file?
The Opus file extension is a new audio format in the development phase and it is still in the early stages. It will be in use in 2020 and it will replace MP3. The Opus file format can be opened by both Windows and Mac users. Opus files are lossy compressed audio files without any DRM protection which means that anyone can open them and listen to them on their own computer or device with no restrictions. Though the term “Opus” has been mentioned before, this file extension was introduced for the first time by Google at their I/O Conference 2017.
