What is DSS file?
Digital Speech Standard File (DSS) is a file that contains the data that is used to convert speech into text. It was developed in order to emulate spoken language and avoid the problems with digital audio systems. In 2018, there were around 8 million DSS files in use throughout the world. Most of them are used for subtitles and subtitles are becoming more popular because they contain images and animations that help to give a viewer a better understanding of what is going on in a movie or television show. These files can be opened by different DSS viewers, such as Microsoft Office DSS Viewer, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 or 10 , Sun Java ME DSS Viewer , GDI+ Xamarin Studio .NET or PublishDellSoft WinDBSynthViewer
