What is DOT file?
DOT files are a word document template which is used to create Microsoft Word DOCX, DOC, and DOT file formats. DOT files were developed in 1989 by Microsoft to create Word documents that can be opened in the Windows 3.1 operating system. When using the .DOT file format, Word documents can be opened on any computer which has a compatible version of the Windows 3.1 operating system installed. The .DOT file extension can also be used for other types of documents such as website templates, business plan templates, resume templates, proposal templates and brochures.
