What is BK2 file?
The BK2 file extension is the default Windows Indexing Service Data File (.SID) created by Windows Search. It stores the result of searching and indexing, including file and folder names and contents, in a single file. At present, Microsoft has not released any information about the BK2 files on their website. However, there are many reasons to believe that they do exist and that they contain sensitive information such as email addresses or personal data. The contents of BK2 files are not visible but can be accessed through registry entries or manually opening them with an app like Notepad++.
